How the agency began

The Allen Thomas Group dates to 2003, when Joe Race set it up as an independent agency that represents its clients rather than a single insurance company. More than 20 years later, the agency is headquartered in Akron, Ohio, and licensed in 28 states.

The agency was built around owners who run their businesses from a truck cab: people who know their trade far better than they know policy language. That still shapes how our team works. Explain the coverage plainly, point out the exclusions before a claim does, and set the policy up for the business the owner actually runs.
